Magellan Centre

The Magellan Centre will offer a continuum of care in one building. Realizing that not all seniors in our community require long-term care, the Centre will also accommodate 57 assisted living units.

Assisted living is a residential option for independent seniors who need more personalized services, from meal preparation to housekeeping. This differs from long-term care, which accommodates and supports people who can no longer live independently and who may require 24-hour medical/nursing care and supervision. Magellan has committed to making at least 47 of the assisted living units “affordable,” in accordance with City’s Open Door Affordable Housing Program, which gives priority to low-income seniors.

The Magellan Centre will be a leader in care for the elderly providing quality services and programs in a safe, modern and accessible setting. As a community hub, Magellan will welcome all neighbourhood seniors and their families to participate in shared experiences and encourage a sense of belonging.
