TORONTO, ON – April 12, 2022 – Magellan Community Charities is pleased to announce the appointment of Natalie Santos as its new General Manager.
“We are thrilled to have Natalie join our team. She will help bring this important centre to life for our community,” says Charles Sousa, board chair. “Her leadership and experience will support project management, operations and capital campaign efforts.”
Natalie is a licensed Condominium Property Manager who has worked in the industry for over ten years. She holds her Registered Condominium Manager Designation, General License, and was responsible for operations, accounting, contracts, supervising teams and reporting to boards.
She also knows her way around development projects having completed her Project Management Certificate, University of Toronto, as well as a Blueprint Reading for Construction Trades course at George Brown College.
Natalie is known for being detailed-oriented. Her experience includes working in high-paced environments with emphasis on managing conflicts.
“I am honoured to be part of an organization that cares deeply to support and protect our community.” says Santos. “We are all committed to building a home for Portuguese Canadian seniors. It is so crucial and long overdue.”
As a volunteer, Natalie values those who give back to the community. She cared for her aging father, and she understands the struggles that family members face to provide dignified care for the elderly. She is passionate about helping our most vulnerable seniors find safe and comforting surroundings.
The Magellan Centre will be the first long-term care home for Portuguese-speaking seniors in Ontario. The centre will also include affordable housing residences and offers a community hub for social and cultural events.
