Natalie Santos

As a Condominium Manager, Natalie Santos has developed a unique perspective overseeing the operations of a demanding, modern-day condominium with an abundance of industry knowledge and building maintenance expertise. With a career spanning over a decade between 2010 to 2022, employed within two distinguished property management companies, Natalie’s team-oriented nature, determination and definitive communication has led her to successfully operate an impressive 1500 units at six sites all the while increasing work productivity among her staff through an energetic atmosphere.

Natalie’s proficiency is in building operations, budgetary management and coordinating with talented teams of engineers, lawyers and building developers. She’s never evaded conducting conflict resolution in relation to her managerial projects and building operations. She is an accomplished licensed Condominium Manager in Ontario, certified in Project Management with the University of Toronto and has successfully completed two Blueprint Analysis for Construction courses with George Brown College. Natalie’s pride and satisfaction emanates from the ability to help others in her community with her array of qualifications and skills.

Richard Ramos

Richard Ramos is an accomplished project management professional and planner with 20 years of experience in construction management and land development. His extensive background ranges from the initial municipal planning stages, right through to budget management in all phases of construction. He is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Architecture, and is a qualified examiner for the Ontario Building Code. He also holds a professional project manager designation in the construction industry, and has been a member since 2009. From 2000 to 2007, Richard was employed with several credited architectural firms, as a senior architectural consultant and planner for proposed residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. He has been responsible for project management from the ground-breaking stage through to completion, while controlling budgets and schedules. From 2008 to 2014, Richard held the position of senior project manager with the York Catholic District School Board to oversee the construction of all new elementary and secondary schools, while maintaining an annual budget of over $80 million in construction costs.

Christopher J. Clapperton

Chris’ law practice of over 20 years encompasses estate, trust and tax planning and related administration and litigation. He acts as an independent mediator for wealthy families on estate disputes. Chris is often requested to act either alone or with a clients’ family members as attorney for property, estate trustee under wills, or as trustee under family trusts. Chris assists business owners with succession planning strategies and implementation, estate freezing, corporate reorganizations, corporate counsel (including partnership and shareholder agreements), advising on domestic and international tax issues and compliance matters, assistance with the Canada Revenue Agency, technical interpretation requests under the Income Tax Act (Canada), advance income tax ruling applications, and dispute mediation.

Manuel DaCosta

Manuel founded Viana Roofing and Sheet Metal in 1984, which is a construction and restoration company undertaking industrial, commercial and residential work. Currently, he employs over 100 staff, who are mostly of Portuguese backgrounds. Furthermore, he founded the JDC Property Management Group in 2001, a developmental and property management company. The company oversees the construction of management of commercial and residential buildings, including condominiums and residential properties. In 2011, he founded SIT Properties to develop and manage commercial and residential properties, with emphasis, also in the entertainment industry. Manuel is the original founder and builder of the Portuguese-Canadian Walk of Fame, which was created to recognize Portuguese- Canadians, who have made substantial contributions to the enhancement of Portuguese culture within Canada. Recently, the Portuguese-Canadian Walk of Fame celebrated its 7th year.

Tulia Ferreira

Tulia is a Registered Nurse by profession and holds a Bachelor in Health Services Administration.  She has been in the senior care industry for over 30 years.

She brings with her expertise and knowledge in nursing, administration, organization management, programs, management information systems, and legislative standards.

Tulia has published articles on drug utilization and skin care programs.   She also served as member of the Resident Care Committee and other task force groups at the Ontario Long Term Care Association. 

As a Consultant, Tulia provided a variety of consulting and oversight services to urban and rural senior care facilities in the province of Ontario. Tulia was seconded by the Ontario government to draft policy that informed the decisions for the legislation that governs long term care homes in Ontario.

In the last twelve years, Tulia has been instrumental in the creation, development and growth of the Surge Learning platform.  As the CEO of the Company and one of the co-founders she has led this company from its inception to the growth it enjoys today.

In her spare time, Tulia loves to spend time with her grandchildren and travel.  She enjoys different hobbies including golfing and skiing. 

John P. Ferreira

John is a real estate lawyer in Toronto whose practice involves real estate acquisitions, dispositions and financings. He has been a director of the Federation of Portuguese Canadian Business and Professionals, the Portuguese Canadian Lawyers Association, and a number of other community organizations. Most recently, John served as a director on the board of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario, until its merger with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario. John is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Oxford University.

Vitor Fonseca

Vitor is Vice President and Treasurer of Romspen Investment Corporation. With a $3 billion portfolio Romspen is one of the largest non-bank providers of mortgage financing for real estate projects in North America. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of Retirement Life Communities, Inc., a privately-owned developer, and manager of retirement homes.
Currently, Vitor is also chairman of the audit committee of Canntab Therapeutics, Inc. (medical cannabis) and Nuran Wireless Inc. (telecommunications), both publicly traded companies. He previously served as chairman of the audit committee of Enwave Energy Corporation, a Toronto-based district energy company owned by the City of Toronto and the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) and of Mission Ready Solutions Inc., a publicly-traded supplier of specialized equipment and services to the US military.
Vitor earned an MBA from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto, is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors of the same University and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Ofelia Isabel

Ofelia spent most of her 30+ year career with Willis Towers Watson, a global business management consulting firm. She was a trusted advisor to some of the largest Canadian and global organizations, helping them with their risk and people strategies. Prior to her retirement in 2022, she held a number of leadership roles, including leading the Talent & Rewards business in Canada and the U.S. Midwest, leading the Toronto market with its 600 employees, and acting as the co-CEO for Canada across all lines of business.

She currently works as an executive coach for women in leadership, serves on the Board of the Working Women Community Centre, co-chairs the International Actuarial Association’s ESG-Governance working party, and sits on the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Practice Development Council. In her spare time, she enjoys travels to Portugal and spending time with her 10 nieces and nephews.

Ofelia is a Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE), a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Certified Professional Coach. She has a mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and attained her Human Resources Management credentials from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business. 

Ana Maria Kapralos

Ana is a senior executive with the Ontario Public Service, and is currently with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General responsible for leading transformational initiatives, as well as justice sector public and judicial appointments. She brings extensive experience in corporate management, government policy, operations, and agency oversight for justice sector agencies and tribunals.  She has worked on policy initiatives to support access to justice and served as the representative for Ontario on the Canadian federal, provincial, territorial (FPT) committee on legal aid, and most recently the Hague Convention. 

Ana is currently a PhD (ABD) candidate in policy studies, at the Metropolitan Toronto University with a research interest in justice modernization internationally.  At Queen’s University, she completed the Executive Leadership Program as well as Intergovernmental Negotiations.  She also completed the Senior Executive in the Public Sector Advanced Finance and Accounting Certification Program with Chartered Professional Accountants Canada (CPAC). She teaches part time with York University in both the undergraduate and graduate level degree programs in the School of Public Policy and Administration. 

Ana is passionate about volunteering and is currently a mentor/coach with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Centre (TREIC) providing guidance and advice to immigrant professionals. She has also volunteered as Board Director with the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation, and Board Director with the Federation of Portuguese Canadian Business and Professionals. She has a strong passion for civic and social causes focusing on the most marginal people in society.

Jason Pereira

Jason Pereira MBA CFA CFP (Can & US) RFP TEP FCSI CIWM PFP FMA is a well-known and accomplished financial planner and industry advocate. His commentary and writing have appeared in every major media outlet in Canada and is a columnist and advisory board member of the Globe & Mail’s Globe Advisor.

He is a director of the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners and the Individual Finance and Insurance Decision Centre and was the founding President of the Financial Planning Association of Canada. In addition, he has held various volunteer positions with IIROC, FP Canada, The FPSB, CIRO and the CFA Institute, among others.

Jason has also worked to educate the public and his peers on financial planning and practice management topics. He has worked as an Instructor at the Schulich School of Business, recorded over 400 podcasts on financial planning and fintech, several regulatory commentaries, published dozens of articles and is a frequent contributor in the media advocating for financial planners and consumers.
